Evangelistic Campaign (Brindisi-Italy)

“The love of God continues to be the only answer that anyone needs”

From the 3rd to the 7th of August in Brindisi (Italy) we hosted an open air evangelistic campaign on the city centre square with the aim of bringing a message of hope and salvation to everyone approaching or passing by.

The outreach title was “Brindisi shall be saved”; it was in English not only because part of the team came from the UK but also having in mind the great number of tourists or non-Italian speaking people present at this time of the year.

Daniele and Erika Gremito (‘Open Bridge Ministry’s founders) have led the campaign including the seminars on evangelism and discipleship, together with the support of their Italian co-workers, Anna Iervolino (actively involved in evangelistic work in the north of Italy together with her husband Gennaro) and the young Michele Staffieri, former student at the ‘IBTI’ where the couple Gremito have taught and served for several years.

Our prayers and work focused on simply being a channel through which God’s message could smoothly flow, and so it was. On Saturday night, our hearts joined together to proclaim the Good News in Vittorio’s Square. “Teamwork” worked! Open Bridge Ministry, supported by the Gospel Choir ADIBRINDISI, a fantastic Kids Corner team and the extraordinary testimony of Giuseppe Cazzato, have all worked in a perfect synergy with only one aim: reaching out with the message of salvation.

Before the evening event, we hosted a training course on Evangelism and Discipleship which saw the participation of other churches too. The biggest joy was on Sunday morning when many have responded to the altar call. Among these, 5 people had come from the Saturday night open air event having been touched by God’s word and now had not only come to church for first time but also responded with a personal decision to follow Jesus, praise God!

We thank God for sending us these faithful instruments who allowed us to add one more piece to the great plan of salvation that God has for this city. God willing, we are going to have a “Brindisi shall be saved 2"!

“L’amore di Dio continua ad essere l’unica risposta di cui tutti hanno bisogno.”

Dal 3 al 7 agosto 2017 a Brindisi (Italy) è stata promossa una campagna evangelistica per portare sulla pubblica piazza un messaggio di speranza e di salvezza per ogni persona. Il titolo è stato “Brindisi shall be saved” (Brindisi sarà salvata); in inglese, non solo poiche’ una parte del team è arrivata dall’Inghilterra ma anche per il gran numero di turisti presenti in questo periodo dell’anno.

Daniele ed Erika Gremito (fondatori di Open Bridge Ministry) hanno condotto la campagna evangelistica inclusi i seminari di formazione insieme al supporto di loro validi collaboratori italiani, Anna Iervolino (impegnata in varie attivita’ evangelistiche insieme al marito Gennaro nel nord Italia) e il giovane Michele Staffieri, ex-allievo della scuola biblica inglese IBTI dove i coniugi Gremito hanno insegnato e servito per diversi anni.

L’obiettivo per cui si è pregato e lavorato è stato quello di essere semplicemente dei canali mediante i quali il messaggio da parte di Dio potesse scorrere il più fluidamente possibile. Tutto ciò è avvenuto, e sabato sera in Piazza Vittoria il cuore di ognuno è stato coinvolto nella proclamazione e ricezione della Buona Notizia. Il “lavoro di squadra” ha premiato, Open Bridge Ministry Team, supportato dal Gruppo Musicale ADIBRINDISI, da un Kids Corner al top, e dalla straordinaria storia di Giuseppe Cazzato, sono stati una perfetta sinergia per raggiungere l’unico obiettivo prefissato: raggiungere le persone con il messaggio della salvezza.

Prima del Gospel inoltre, si è avuto un momento di formazione sui temi dell’evangelizzazione e del discepolato con la graditissima visita anche di altre comunità. Soprattutto, la gioia e l’emozione più grande è stata la domenica mattina, quando insieme ad altre care persone, hanno risposto ad un appello per ricevere supporto in preghiera ben cinque persone che per la prima volta erano presenti in piazza la sera precedente e il giorno dopo hanno varcato la soglia di un luogo di culto evangelico!

Ringraziamo Dio per questi strumenti fedeli che ha inviato a Brindisi e che hanno permesso di aggiungere un altro tassello al piano divino per la salvezza di questa città. A Dio piacendo, si prevede un “Brindisi shall be saved N° 2”!
